Zilia : Reflections on a Theme by Clara Schumann was performed in Windsor Building Royal Holloway, University of London Egham, Surrey.
Event programme
This programme of music by women composers is one that is close to Mary's heart and a sharing of works that she has played and promoted throughout her career. The Hess arrangement is a joy of orchestration at the piano, Clara Schumann's Variations are by turn intimate and virtuosic, again revelling in the piano as an instrument. The other works programmed are by distinguished Irish composers Mary has recorded and performed internationally, and present a snapshot of the wealth of new music for piano by Irish composers.
